I didn't really learn anything new about Ursula that I didn't already know。 Yes, there was a little bit of interesting background, but most if it I already knew。 What was new was learning about her human 'father' and what happened to him。 What wasn't new was reading about her hatred for Triton, although I never knew how deep and dark her hatred for him was。 What I really loved was learning more about Nanny! I am so so very interested in learning who she is。 I didn't really learn anything new about Ursula that I didn't already know。 Yes, there was a little bit of interesting background, but most if it I already knew。 What was new was learning about her human 'father' and what happened to him。 What wasn't new was reading about her hatred for Triton, although I never knew how deep and dark her hatred for him was。 What I really loved was learning more about Nanny! I thoroughly enjoyed reading Poor Unfortunate Soul (Villains, #3) 。

I liked this book, but I wish there was more of Ursula and her story than the Odd Sisters and Princess Tulip。 I DO like how all of the first three books in this series connects, and I'm looking forward to the next one! Not as strongly written as the previous 2 in the series。 The tale that involves Ursula and Ariel is almost copied from the movie。 Does have an interesting spin with the evil witches and triton that leads you wanting to read the next in the series。

A diferencia de su sucesor (la más bella del reino, por la bestia no lo encontré 😭), encontré a este libro pobre, Ursula es un personaje que merecía un mejor backup, y no siento que se lo hayan dado。

I had high expectations about this book but I got disappointed , I thought it was going to tell Ursula’s past the Disney story。。 and some of the words were confusing to me but it wasn’t a bad book but it wasn’t entertaining for me

I wasn’t a fan of this one as much as I have been of the other books。 It didn’t even fully focus on Ursula。 If the books continue in this way, I’m not sure if I’m going to continue。 I really want these books to focus on the villains and not the sisters。 I get that they play a huge part along the way but I wanted to learn more about Ursula。 Also it felt like I was kind of watching The Little Mermaid and if I wanted that, I would have just watched the movie。

so far this has been the worst one because it wasn't even focused on Ursula all that much。 So I was kind of disappointed。 But I guess I'll keep reading the series because I really want to read about Mother Gothel。 so far this has been the worst one because it wasn't even focused on Ursula all that much。 So I was kind of disappointed。 But I guess I'll keep reading the series because I really want to read about Mother Gothel。 。。。more

This is the third book of the series and I was disappointed。 It still has some merits like consistency of continuing characters and the tie-in to familiar Disney story points。 The problem was in the scattered story lines。 I wanted a book about Ursula’s back story which I got in drips and drabs throughout about three other story arcs。 These other, barely connected plot points should have been left for another book。 The focus should have been more on Ursula with an in depth look at her younger lif This is the third book of the series and I was disappointed。 It still has some merits like consistency of continuing characters and the tie-in to familiar Disney story points。 The problem was in the scattered story lines。 I wanted a book about Ursula’s back story which I got in drips and drabs throughout about three other story arcs。 These other, barely connected plot points should have been left for another book。 The focus should have been more on Ursula with an in depth look at her younger life and her feelings throughout The Little Mermaid saga。 It did not satisfy enough to be a book described as her’s。 It also seemed too eager to squeeze in what will clearly be the focus of the next book too early on and too obviously。 All this said I will give book 4 a chance to redeem the series for me。 。。。more

These books only take a couple hours to read and I adore them。 This is the third in the series and the way the author has taken 3 VERY different villains and still wound them altogether is magical。 Little Mermaid was one of my favorites growing up (and still is) so I loved seeing everything from the Ursula’s eyes and her backstory。 I felt little pity for the villain in this one whereas the other two had me in tears of understanding。

I read this book front to back as soon as I brought it home! This was the first of the series that I’ve read to try and get the feel of it and now I definitely want to go back and read the rest。I love the story line and how it incorporates other Disney stories in the process。 It can definitely get a bit confusing keeping track of everyone and their connections to each other/ their relevance to the story, so you need to pay close attention。I was intrigued at how well planned the backstory of Ursu I read this book front to back as soon as I brought it home! Would definitely read again! 。。。more

We didn't really need a backstory for Ursula, and if we did need it, it could have been way better than this。 This felt too forced and it tried to fit in a nice manageable box but that manage to further ruin it。 The attempt was nice but it could have been loads better。 We didn't really need a backstory for Ursula, and if we did need it, it could have been way better than this。 This felt too forced and it tried to fit in a nice manageable box but that manage to further ruin it。 The attempt was nice but it could have been loads better。 。。。more

Isn't the Ursula's story is more the Strange Sister。。。 I hoped to read the beginning of Ursula's Life and feel with her, her feelings for more understanding this character。I prefer Mirror Mirror for time。 Isn't the Ursula's story is more the Strange Sister。。。 I hoped to read the beginning of Ursula's Life and feel with her, her feelings for more understanding this character。I prefer Mirror Mirror for time。 。。。more

It was ok, it wasnt exactly about Ursula her back story was like one sentence。 Idk it could've been expanded a little more like the others。 A little disappointing。 On to the next one It was ok, it wasnt exactly about Ursula her back story was like one sentence。 Idk it could've been expanded a little more like the others。 A little disappointing。 On to the next one 。。。more

I am really loving these books。 Like very much so! I know some people are very annoyed that it is kind of focused on the ODD(very odd) sisters but I quite enjoy their weird, nasty selves! Whoever is writing blurbs to this series should read the books again。 Did we get Ursula's back story? Sure, a whole chapter of it, oh sorry, one and a third。 Was it enough to make it half of the blurb? In my opinion no。 We didn't even get a lot of Ursula or Ariel and the fact that some parts we did get were either 1:1 dialogue from the movie or very close to it, did not make me happy。 Most of the book was about other people and while I'm glad Tulip got somewhat of a happy ending I was expecting Whoever is writing blurbs to this series should read the books again。 Did we get Ursula's back story? I am giving this book three stars because I enjoyed the entertainment factor。However, after reading some of the other reviews, I whole heartedly agree that we got gypped here。 Valentino's villains series is usually about the backstory of our favorite Disney villains as to why they have become who they now are but this one was just a smattering of short descriptions of some crummy things that happened to Ursula and was more about advancing the Odd Sisters plot in the series than anything else。 I I am giving this book three stars because I enjoyed the entertainment factor。However, after reading some of the other reviews, I whole heartedly agree that we got gypped here。 Valentino's villains series is usually about the backstory of our favorite Disney villains as to why they have become who they now are but this one was just a smattering of short descriptions of some crummy things that happened to Ursula and was more about advancing the Odd Sisters plot in the series than anything else。 I wanted to know more about Ursula's background with her parents and then her adoptive father。 There was so much opportunity there for her history that I felt was missed。 I am glad Valentino's subsequent books have returned to the original premise of why the villain became the villain。 I think we need another book about Ursula。 。。。more

After not following Ursula's story, I found this book very hard to read。 On top of the mindset of speeding through the pages, Disney stories have never made deep sense into me。 I strongly recommend watching the movie before the book, therefore the point of view is clear。 All in all, the tough nature of books like these are very challenging to follow, but a very good reward in the end。 After not following Ursula's story, I found this book very hard to read。 On top of the mindset of speeding through the pages, Disney stories have never made deep sense into me。 I strongly recommend watching the movie before the book, therefore the point of view is clear。 All in all, the tough nature of books like these are very challenging to follow, but a very good reward in the end。 。。。more
